Okay...so now it's January....

Okay...so now it's January....

Time to start anew...time to reorganize...time to re-energize.....Here's to us all doing just that.

So much to share with you...but my laptop is feeling sick right now and that's where all of my photos are...but I will update soon.

I have discovered FACEBOOK...and I love it.  It's so much easier to keep updated than this darn blog.  Just go to Facebook.com and search for Melody Bobo.  Just ask to be my "friend" and I will add you so we can all keep in touch.

For those of you that live locally and would be interested in receiving an invite to my upcoming baby shower...please send me an email with your address...( I hope this isn't horribly tacky...but I lost alot of my addresses once the store closed....so if you want to come...than i for sure want you there...LOL) at zandiohana@ca.rr.com .  It is being hosted by Chris' Mom...and we are thinking of having it here at my house Mid February or Early March...not sure yet....but thought we would get the planning started.  I am soooooo excited for these babies.  We had an ultrasound today and they are both doing fantastic.  They each weigh 2 lbs.12 oz and 2 lbs. 13 oz respectively..(smile) and they couldn't be more perfect.

Okay...so come on over to Facebook...and look me up...it's very addicting so beware....LOL

Hugs to you all!

Making a List and Checking it twice....

Tis' the Season to be EXHAUSTED!!!  I cannot even begin to tell you how much my body hurts...and walking the mall has become torture instead of the fun I used to have.  I still have so much to do and buy...and going out on Wednesday has left me miserable...and now it's Friday and I am still in pain.  Twins...they are really slowing me down...and I still have three months to go.  I don't know if I'll be able to even get my butt off the couch...let alone manage my household. :) One thing that has continued and that has been a wonderful highlight to my Mondays has been the scrapbooking time with my S.O.S. girls...(Sisters of Scrapbooking)  LOL!  I know...totally cheesy...but doesn't it seem like sometimes scrapbooking is the answer to a distress call?  We have had so much fun preparing for the holidays and sharing ideas...thanks to Kim all of the children left this morning with neat teacher gifts....of course I didn't get a photo since I was literally tying the last bow as they were being rushed out the door...."Queen of Good Intentions"  that's me....I always have such grand plans...and in the end some decorative paper, atg adhesive and a sparkly pipe cleaner or two do the trick....and in the end...everyone is happy...what more can you ask.

Here are some pictures of the girls and I making our Christmas Banners....it was a collaborative effort with all of us donating different supplies and I am so impressed at how beautiful they all turned out...on Monday we are baking Christmas cookies and creating one more Christmas home decor project.  There will be photos...I promise!!  Here is a photo of our smorgesborg of goodies that we all "brought to the table" so to speak...LOL!  So much glitter...so little time!IMG_5645  Parts and Piece of Elaine's Banner.  The believe sign is something that I made last year...IMG_5646  Cindy is enjoying a quick snack before continuing with the "banner sweat-shop"...LOLIMG_5647  Here's Elaine putting on her finishing touches....IMG_5660  Here I am...lovin' the zip dry...LOL!!!!IMG_5648  Okay...so here is the final project on display...it was such a fun project.  Can you see Elaine in the mirror...LOL.  I don't know how I didn't get a photo of Kim and baby Ethan.  Darn it...we'll make sure and snap a picture on Monday while we are baking cookies!!!  IMG_5658

I really hope that you all enjoy this hectic holiday season...and don't forget to remember the true meaning of Christmas and the Holidays....Family, Friends and lots of presents....LOL....just kidding...cherish your families...remember those no longer with us...and embrace the ones you see today...

Thanksgiving Pt.2

IMG_3010    Here is another photo from our Thanksgiving Gathering...it really was a beautiful day.  The book that I made was a huge hit...we all enjoyed reading what we were all thankful for....especially the little kids.Photo_112508_001   We heard everything from being thankful for my purple purse (courtesy of Mia who is 4) to being thankful for those who "stood up for us" and when we looked at him confused Jonah (who is 7) responded by saying..."You know..like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln"...and we all were just in awe of the pure truth in that sweet statement.  2008-12-11 thanksgiving2008   It was such a highlight to the day....here we are reading our entries....

Hello Hello...is anybody still there?

I'm Baaaaaaaccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk!  How are you all?  Whew...what a crazy few months huh?  I'm just starting to get my breath back...so that should explain my absence.  I am so excited to be back and to catch up with all of you.

So....how was your thanksgiving?  It was amazing for us.  The kid's Dad returned from deployment so they got to enjoy some much needed and anticipated Daddy time...meanwhile Chris and I prepared for a very special day...our first Thanksgiving as a family.  We had everyone there...all five of the children, Grandma, Uncle Jay, Becky and Tim with their two beautiful children, Sarah and her friend and of course Molly, Jack and Timber (the dog and two cats of course! SMILE)   Here are some highlighted photos of the day....notice how B.I.G. I am getting...sheesh...don't know how much more this body can stretch...IMG_3009  I made the Gratitude book from Heidi Swapp and it was such a highlight for all of us!  I will update with more photos in a bit...have to run and pick up all the kids from school.  So happy to be back amongst my blogging friends...leave a comment so I know your still out there!

It's About Time...

to say goodbye.  I cannot even begin to express my sadness in writing this blog entry.  The finality of it all is devastating...and literally unbelievable to me.  Every one of you have to know how much I tried to keep this store afloat.  I am personally and professionally bankrupt in trying to save this place....I just have nothing more to give...it's as simple as that.  I want to let all of you know that owning this store and getting to know all of you has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my entire life.  This industry has brought me so much...from my creative exploration to my business sense....this is the first thing in my life that I was good at....and that felt right....the first thing that I could truly say was where I was meant to be.  I was never the one who knew who she was going to be when she grew up.  I can tell you that I would have never guessed that I would be an entrepreneur....seriously...ME???  I would have never predicted the role I have played over the last few years....it has been the craziest roller coaster of experiences, emotions and decisions.  I have faced so many of my personal fears, I have questioned and defended my character, I have fought for what I believed in, I have faced confrontation, and I have cried so many tears....but I have also laughed!  I have grown so close to so many of you....so many of you have opened up your lives to me and you have taught me so much.  I will never be the same without you.  A piece of all of you will be with me always...and I thank you for making me a better mom, friend, boss, partner, and teacher....you will never ever know the impact each and every one of you have had in my life.  I have experienced so much change and heartbreak....extreme happiness and joy....and I've done it all right along with you....thank you for being there...through it all.  Now, as I move onto this amazing stage in my life I will think of you often and I will miss you all.

I am going to continue to update this blog...but it will no longer be the store blog.  It has always brought me so much fulfillment to write out my thoughts and opinions here..so as I continue on this journey of babies and marriage....I want to share it with you.  So, feel free to leave comments and I hope that you will not lose touch....I will be honest...I need you.  You have been an important part of my life for so long....I don't think I could live without you.

Anyway, let's get down to business.

Here is how it's going to work.  I am closing the store until Monday November 10th.  On this day we will open the doors for two days ONLY.  This means that you have Monday the 10th and Tuesday the 11th to buy all that's in the store.  I cannot drag this out as I have an opportunity to handle this through a pretty quick and painless process....(so they say anyway...) and frankly...I don't want to drag this out.  I cannot handle it as it is...so let's just do this...quick and dirty okay....

EVERYTHING MUST GO.....everything....I am talking products, fixtures, decor, electronics, etc....

All Sales are FINAL...all products must be paid for via cash or credit card (Visa, Mastercard)  There will be NO HOLDS...all items will be sold on a first come first served basis.  All furniture, fixtures and decor items must be picked up by end of business on Tuesday November 11th.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Do not call and try to reserve items...that's too messy.  If you know you want something specific...you better be the first in line!  Here are a few of the items that will be most wanted: Round White Table, White Display Cabinets, Various Chandeliers, Scrapbook tables and chairs, Crop Island, Popcorn Machine, Picture Machine, storage cabinets, wire paper racks, shelves and brackets...just to name a few....these items will be a fixed price.  There will be no negotiations...all prices will be clearly marked.

All of the scrapbook supplies and home decor items that we have in inventory will be 60% off.  We have received new products since our last big sale....so yes...even the brand new Christmas collections are being sold at this crazy discounted price.  I only have two days....so please let all of your scrapbook friends know....it's a sad day...but it's going to be even worse if I cannot sell the inventory that I have left....I need you all this one last time....

Now for the good news.....On November 4th Chris and I (along with our five children, Grandma, Great Grandma, and even Uncle Jay)got to see our two beautiful babies on the big ultrasound screen....and the babies were very cooperative....the first picture we got to see was the "NO DOUBT ABOUT IT we are BOYS" shot!  Can you believe it???  Two boys...and we couldn't be happier.  They're names are Jack and Joey....and they are going to bring more joy into all of our lives than we are going to know what to do with....we are so very blessed.  I am excited to have this time to enjoy the pregnancy and as you all can imagine...I will be very needed at home...so being a mommy to seven children doesn't leave much room for a business owner role as well....oh...and I actually want to be a wife to my amazing Christopher.....I need to be home....I just need to be home.

I will miss you all...and I will never ever forget the last three years....thanks for the memories.

Okay....Okay...I hear you loud and clear

Through phone calls, emails and even anonymous comments here on the blog I know we are long overdue for an update.  Have you ever had so much to say that you couldn't even start?  Well..that's sorta where I am.  I feel so out of touch....and yet I feel such a huge need to reconnect....with all of you.  I miss you....I really really do.  Another scrapbook store announced it is closing it's doors today.....I'm seriously so depressed.  I honestly have been contemplating that myself.  I know...it's even harder for me to type...I know it's hard for you to read.  I just cannot explain how bad it is.  How can we make things better?  How can we bring you out of your homes and into the store to shop?   Unfortunately it's out of my control.  There is so much going on with the economy that I am up against the worst odds...and yet...believe it or not...there are stores surviving...so why can't we?

There's some major news that ripped through my quiet, content little world a few months ago...and it really left me shaken....it really made my priorities and  honestly my LIFE change...FOREVER.  Many of you may not even know what I am referring to...so this is why I think "IT'S ABOUT TIME" you knew....I am having a BABY.....You may have even heard the even crazier news....I'm having TWINS!!!  OMG!!  I know...what a crazy crazy turn my life has taken.  So...if you have noticed that I have been M.I.A....around the store it's because I have been so tired...and so very sick....and honestly...just couldn't deal with anyone or anything...so I took a timeout.  I cannot thank Rebecca, Cindy, Kim, Lauren and those with just words of comfort and encouragement for helping me through that time.  I knew the store was in good hands...and during that time I was contemplating...what my next move would be.  I was praying for answers, waiting for a sign, searching for SOMETHING to help me decide what to do next....guess what....still no answers.  I am starting to feel better and I have even visited the store...such a healing environment.  Has this happened to you?  Have you felt down, depressed, sad, angry or confused and then stopped by the store for a visit....and someone or something made you smile?  Did you leave a happier person?  It's an indescribable feeling...the support, the friendship, the sisterhood...I cannot live without it.  I don't feel like my "whole" self when I have been away for too long....I NEED this store...because I need all of you.  So, here's what I am going to do.  I am going to fight...darn it. We are honestly teetering on the edge right now.  We NEED your help.  You can help us to survive.  Guess how??  By shopping with us.  Seriously..that's how easy it is.  So, please know that we are doing everything we can to keep our doors open.  Look for some new items arriving soon...but don't forget that the store is filled with amazing products...RIGHT now.  So, make sure you are signed up for our newsletter so that you can receive up to the minute sale information.  We all LOVE LOVE LOVE sales...and we do them all the time....so don't let this financially depressing time keep you down.  Come in for a nice chat, a friendly smile and maybe a scrapbook treasure today....we are waiting for you.

I have no idea where to start!

So I took a bunch of pictures of new stuff to show you. Problem is there is so much I have no idea where to start. Hmmm, maybe the obvious holiday first. Here goes....I'll start with the home decor stuff. So cool to be able to buy super chic decor for your holiday decorating and scrapbook supplies all in one spot. I'd overload you with pictures of it all, but here are some of the Halloween items we have here for you. IMG_7312 IMG_7308  IMG_7309  IMG_7304  IMG_7310   IMG_7306

From My Mind's Eye we have this rockin' cute Halloween Line. Check out how adorable this is.IMG_7172  IMG_7177 IMG_7178 IMG_7176  IMG_7174

You can see a little bit of the BoBunny Halloween line here on the left. Man do they always get it right! It's been nice to see how all of the different manufacturers have done different stuff with Halloween this year. I love that there are lines that are muted, bright, classic, and even a bit edgy. If you have past Halloween pictures that you need to scrapbook still, this is a good year to buy several lines and play a bit of catch up. One of the best pieces of advise that I can give if you feel overwhelmed with the sheer number of photos that you have to scrapbook (that is if you're not current, ha ha ha) is to pick a holiday near to the season it is, and do those photos first. So now that we have all of this great Halloween product in the store, grab all of the past photos and get working. It's nice to know you have all of those common, yet yearly photos done. Just think, in a weekend you can catch up on 10 Halloweens, Christmas mornings, or even all of your child's birthdays. It's fun to work that way too because you can have all of that themed stuff out at once and really mix and match the product lines to create masterpieces you'll treasure forever! It's a good way to use all of your product too.

Because there is so much to see, I'm going to post this now, and then give you more in a bit. I might be here for a while adding photos (Internet is slow today!)   If you want to see all that is new now, come into the store. I promise there is a lot to see. We even have SUPER cute Christmas stuff already.( Scrapbook supplies and home decor.) I hope you can make it in today. If not, grab your trimmer, bust out that adhesive, crop some photos, and make it a great weekend.

Happy Scrapping!

Who knew that the LAUNDRY LINE could make one sooooo happy.....

Well...the LAUNDRY LINE from MY MIND'S EYE that is!!!  This is probably my most favorite  release from this company...and if you have been a fan of theirs than you know that this is a pretty huge statement.  We have four new collections to share with you.  We have COASTAL, NATURAL, FLIRTY and SUNDRESS.  The color palette is so soft and delicate.  I don't really know how else to describe it...and the best part is that every single piece of paper has glitter.....so the texture and dimension makes this collection a true treasure.  You will find chipboard accents, clear stamps, crocheted flowers, jeweled ribbons and so much more...did I mention glitter??  Glitter on the alphas, on the paper, and even on the die cuts.  This will not last for long so you better get your booty down here and shop it up....The LAUNDRY LINE has never looked so good.Coastal and Natural Collections   IMG_3220
